Nikon announced a series of updates to its ProStaff riflescope line. The Nikon ProStaff rifle scopes are an affordable line of rifle scopes that gives hunters the power and versatility needed for any hunt. Despite being an affordable line of rifle scopes, they still are Nikon riflescopes with proven optics, ruggedness, and precision.
Nikon ProStaff riflescopes feature a fully multi-coated optical system. It allows for up to 98% light transmission for improved images. In addition, the scopes feature spring-loaded zero-reset turrets and 1/4-MOA precision click adjustments. The Nikon ProStaff scopes come with a lifetime warranty.
Most scopes in the lineup can be purchased with various different reticles. These range from simple BDR variants to more complex (complicated?) Nikoplex reticles.
All of the scopes in the Prostaff family come with a generous eye relief even though the optics are not necessarily designed to work on rifles with high recoil. For the typical hunting scenarios, you will end up with enough space between the scope and your eyebrow to not end up having scope bite!
All of the Prostaff scopes have tubes made from a single piece of aluminum. They are sealed with O-rings to prevent water to enter the inside of the scope.
They are nitrogen purged to prevent fogging or water build-up inside the scope. In combination with the lens coatings, you end up with an optic that is waterproof and fog proof, making it a great choice for any hunting scenario.

Let’s have a look at the different models in the ProStaff family:
Nikon ProStaff 3-9×50
One of the new ProStaff scopes is the Nikon ProStaff 3-9×50. It combines Nikon’s multi-coated precision optics with a large 50mm objective. This will keep you hunting as long as possible in the evening hours. The large objective allows for improved handling and fast target acquisition in low contrast and low light conditions.
Nikon ProStaff 4-12×40
The Nikon ProStaff 4-12×40 offers the right mix of versatility, power, and performance for hunters traveling the country. It offers the new zero-reset turrets combined with outstanding optics, magnification, and field of view.
Nikon ProStaff 3-9×40
The ProStaff 3-9×40 receives a technology upgrade. This upgrade will allow even the most demanding hunter to take a closer look at this rifle scope. The upgrades consist of brighter new optics in combination with zero-reset turrets. This riflescope has enough magnification for even the longest shots while keeping a wide field of view for timber or thick brush.
Nikon ProStaff 2-7×32
The ideal scope for compact rifles is the Nikon ProStaff 2-7×32 with Nikoplex due to its small size. It does offer all performance features requested in a high-power rifle scope despite its small size. Sporting superior optics combined with precise 1/4 MOA with zero-reset turrets makes the Prostaff 2-7×32 ready for virtually any hunt. The Prostaff 2-7×32 is part of our list of the best Marlin 336 scope recommendations!
