The brightness and intensity of the dot can be adjusted in 11 levels. This enables you to adjust the intensity to pretty much any lighting and the environmental situation at hand.

The sight offers no magnification. As with most red dot sights, it has unlimited eye relief. Windage and Elevation can be adjusted by up to 100 MOA in graduations of 1 MOA. The turrets come with protective caps.

The skeletonized mount offers two height options. That way you can use the sight equally well on an AR-15, shotguns or even pistols. The length of the sight is only 2.5 inches which makes it easy to fit on a wide range of firearms.

The body is made from aircraft-grade aluminum with a hard-anodized finish. It is light at only 5.2 ounces yet sturdy making this a sight that withstands pretty much any situation you can encounter. The sight is shockproof so you can use it on firearms with heavy recoil.

The sight is, as you’d expect, waterproof. The O-rings seal out all moisture, dust, and debris. The tube is nitrogen purged to have the scope completely fog proof.

The lens coatings ensure a crisp and bright image. On top of that, the sight is practically parallax-free. Consider here that all red dot and holographic sights have a tiny level of parallax which by industry standards is considered being ‘parallax-free’.

The battery life is an estimated 7,000 hours on a medium brightness setting. The battery is a standard, commonly available CR 2032 battery that is included. The scope additionally comes with lens covers and a T10 Torx.

Like all Vortex optics, the Crossfire red dot sight is covered by a lifetime guarantee. The Vortex VIP warranty covers the sight for the lifetime, with a no-fault guarantee, and is transferrable. Other Vortex sights like the Venom RDS come with the same warranty.

  1. I recommended the Vortex Crossfire to a friend of mine. I’m using it and I love the sight. Yet, he has issues that after a couple of shots the sight blinks off. Any idea whether that might just be recoil related?
